Senior citizens in Bucks County will be able to update their job resumes with help from the local Habitat for Humanity ReStores.

Habitat for Humanity ReStores in Bucks County are collaborating with Goodwillโ€™sย Senior Community Service Employment Program to provide area residents over the age of 55 with updated and specialized work training.

The program has been created as older Americans are less likely to receive job offers, more likely to look longer, yet are less likely to find eventual employment, according to organizers from the program.

“Through the program, the ReStores provide on-the-job training, intended to help those aged 55 and older update their jobs skills, build work experience and confidence, and continue to have economic security and well-being,” according to a press release.

โ€œExtended unemployment, age discrimination, lack of skills and other barriers are among the challenges older Bucks County residents face in finding a job,โ€ said B.J. Breish, ReStore Director.ย โ€œThe Goodwill employment programย offers workers paid on-the-job training in our Langhorne and Bucks County ReStores.”

“The Bucks County ReStoresย in Langhorne and Chalfont are socially conscious home improvement stores that sell donated new and gently used furniture, cabinets, appliances, building supplies, housewares, decor and more at a fraction of the retail price to the general public.ย Proceeds from the ReStores enable Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County to build more homes and help others renovate and repair their homes at prices they can afford,” according to organizers.
