One person was taken to the hospital, several properties were damaged and power was knocked out to about 30 homes during a Sunday evening incident in Bristol Township.
Authorities told LevittownNow.com that a contractor working to cut down a tree knocked the tree into a power line behind the homes on Friendly Lane in Levittown Sunday evening. The tree knocked down the primary power line causing numerous problems.

Sheds were damaged by the heat from the fire started by the downed electrical line, a fence was burnt and piles of tree limbs burst into flames, officials said.
Edgely Fire Company Chief Carl Pierce said one Friendly Lane resident suffered smoke inhalation and was transported to the hospital.
As of 8:40 p.m., PECO was on the scene waiting for more resources and their investigators to arrive to the scene, Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said.

The fire marshal said PECO relayed to him that they had previously told the tree contractor to get a power shutdown ordered before doing the tree work. Despite requests from PECO to stop work, the contractor apparently did not stop, leading to Sunday evening’s incident.
Along with the electrical lines, phone and cable wires were also reportedly damaged.

Authorities were still working to identify the contractor as of Sunday night.
