Newportville Road Resurfacing Planned

Over the next year, a contractor working for PennDOT will repave Newportville Road in Bristol Township.

Newportville Road will be resurfacedย as part of a $4.8 million resurfacing project that will impactย 25 roads in the Philadelphia region. The Newportville Road resurfacing is the only road being replacedย in the Levittown area.

The road will be resurfaced with aย high-friction surface treatment to provide increased friction and grip on pavements in wet and dry conditions, PennDOT officials said.

While no date for the work to Newportville Road has been announced, PennDOT said the work will be completed by July 2017.

Contractorย J.D. Eckman Inc. of Atglen, Chester County is completing the project. The work will be paid for with 80 percent federal funds and 20 percent state funds.
