Bristol Borough Summer Food Drive In Full Swing


food-donationsBristol Borough Boy and Cub Scouts are working with theย Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library to support the Bristol Borough Food Pantry this summer.

Donations to the cause can be made between July 5 and August 31. According to a press release put out by the library, the most needed foods are “breakfast cereals and foods, andย protein-rich foods such as meat ravioli in tomato sauce, canned salmon & tuna, canned beans, dry beans, and soup.” However, all non-perishable donations will be accepted.

Donations can go directly to the Bristol Borough Food Pantry or to the Grundy Library. The pantry at 99 Wood Street is open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. It is open on Fridays from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. On other days, the pantry is closed.

If you are dropping items at the library, located at 680 Radcliffe Street, you can drop the items at a drop box located on the main floor of the library. The library is open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The library is closed on Sundays.

Throughout the event, Boy Scout troop and Cub Scoutย pack 212 will transport items from the library to the food pantry.
