Bristol Township might be getting its sixth Wawa.

According to a public notice, the Bristol Township Zoning Hearing Board will be hearing an application from Croydon State LLC of New York City to build a Wawa with gas pumps at the corner of State Road and Veterans Highway (Route 413).
The developer will be seeking variances for the property, which takes up two tax parcels at 3111 State Road in Croydon. The total land between the two parcels is a little more than two acres, according to Bucks County tax records.

The proposed site of the Wawa sits in an area used for many years as industrial and not far from Bristol Township’s border with Bristol Borough. The intersection of Veterans Highway and State Road is heavily traveled, often with commuters using the Burlington-Bristol Bridge that connects to New Jersey.

Currently, there are already three Wawa locations in Bristol Township that have gas pumps and two that operate without gas pumps.

The Croydon area does not currently have a Wawa but does have several gas stations and small sandwich shops and pizzerias. The State Road Deli & Market operates about three-quarters of a mile down the road from the proposed location of the Wawa.

The request for variances are advertised to come before the Bristol Township Zoning Hearing Board at their July 11 meeting, which takes place at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Complex on Bath Road.
