Following your dreams was the running theme behind the Neshaminy High School graudation ceremony held Wednesday evening.
The Langhorne high school, which graduated 630 students under clear skies, hosted alumni and student speakers throughout the evening before officially awarding diplomas to a few hundred students donned in red and blue.

Valedictorian Jay Patel, along with others, gave encouraging and uplifting speeches about following your dreams and remembering to be kind despite each other’s differences.
“I only believe in a few things, and the ‘American Dream’ is definitely one of them. I’m not that smart. In fact, I can’t sing, or dance, I didn’t even do Gym Night during my time at Neshaminy, and I’m probably the least qualified person in this class to say anything inspirational to any of you here today,” said Patel. “Eight years ago when we immigrated to the Unites States, I felt like an even bigger failure. I barely spoke English, I didn’t know the first thing about Google, I was very shy and timid, and I didn’t know anything about Halloween or Play Station, or Star Wars. Everyday for the last eight years, I’ve tried to remind myself how fortunate I am to live in this land of opportunity.
Patel, will join 91 percent of the graduating class as they continue their education in the fall. Upwards of three percent of students will even join the armed forces.

Principal Rob McGee direclty before rewarding diplomas to students, encouraged them all to see themselves as alumni of an even greater group of people, all of whom have had the pleasure of graduating from the school.
