Several active duty Pennsylvania Army National Guard members handed out thousands of American flags to guests entering Sesame Place on Flag Day.
The military members stood near the front entrance of the theme park in Middletown Tuesday to hand out flags as part of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment’s Waves of Honor Program.

“People are telling us they love the fact that we’re giving away flags,” Army Sgt. LaRue Mangum said. “This is a great event to do community service.”
The park has been allowing military men and women to give out American flags on Flag Day for the past 11 years.
Retired Army Sgt. Robert Patrone has been handing out flags at the park for the past 11 years and said nearly every interaction with park-goers is positive.

“It brings a lot of joy to serve the community and see the faces on the kids. It makes me feel so great,” he said.
