An apartment was left uninhabitable Tuesday morning after a fire.
The blaze, which drew crews from several area fire companies, in an uninhabited apartment at the Castle Club complex on West Trenton Avenue in Falls Township happened around 8:40 a.m.

The fire was quickly put out by firefighters, and no injuries were reported, according to Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito.
The apartment sustained heat and smoke damage in the area of the kitchen. Nearby units were able to be reoccupied, Dippolito said.
The fire marshal said he is still investigating the cause.

Dippolito praised the Castle Club Apartments management for taking his suggestion a few years ago to upgrade their fire alarm system to one that is monitored by an alarm company. He said the response to the fire was so quick because of the call from the alarm company. If the alarm system didn’t alert an operator of the fire, it might have been several minutes before the fire was spotted by a building resident and called in to 9-1-1.
“I’m glad the system really paid off,” he said.
