The Middletown Board of Supervisors approved an expansion plan for the Chick-Fil-A by the Oxford Valley Mall.

The board on Monday evening approved a 500-square-foot addition to existing 3,900-square-foot building. The addition to the back of the building will expand the kitchen and allow the fast food eatery to update their building.

The expansion received variances for impervious surface and parking before the planning commission, attorney Tyler Prime said.

Representatives for Chick-Fil-A said the location was originally a Krispy Kreme before turning into a chicken restaurant.

When work begins in September, the restaurant will be closed for up to six weeks.
