Pennsylvania State Police have identified the young woman killed in Monday’s wreck on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Troopers from the King of Prussia barracks said Kelly O’Brien, 18, of Moorrestown, New Jersey, was pronounced dead after a tractor-trailer side swiped her red car and ended up overturning onto herย vehicle after going partly up an embankment along the Turnpike before the Route 1 interchange. The crash happened shortly before 3 p.m. in the eastbound lanes near mile-marker 350 in Bensalem.

A tow truck with a crane and specialized tools from area firefighters were used to lift the trailer off O’Brien’s car. A second large tow truck was used to pull the car out from under the trailer, a firefighter who was on the scene said.
The driver of the truck, Matthew Bradley, of Benton Harbor, Michigan, was transported to Aria Health’s Frankford-Torresdale Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, state police said.
The tractor-trailer was reportedly transporting 20,000 pounds of detergent.
