Local residents have a good reason to purchase a dog license: state dog wardens will be hitting Bucks County this week to make sure locals are following the law.
According to officials, dog wardens will be in Bristol Township on April 5, Bensalem on April 6 and Falls Township on April 7. Authorities can fine residents up to $300 if anย unlicensed dog is found.
The license application collects the dog owner’s contact information and details about the dog; the name, age, breed and color. This information is used by the Pennsylvania Department of Agricultureโs Bureau of Dog Law, local police and shelters to identify lost dogs and return them home safely.

Annual licences cost $8.50 or $6.50 if the dog is spayed or neutered. Lifetime license are also available in Doylestown forย $51.50 or $31.50 for dogs that have permanent identification such as a microchip or tattoo. Discounts are offered forย persons with disabilities and senior citizens.
โIf your dog is lost, a license is the best way to get your dog home. License fees support animal control through the Pennsylvania Department of Agricultureโs Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement which is responsible for ensuring the welfare of dogs, regulating dangerous dogs and overseeing annual dog licensing and rabies vaccinations,” Treasurerย Thomas Panzer said.
