A Senate bill proposing to legalize medical marijuana will come before legislators on Monday and could even come up for a vote next week. Last year, SB 3 passed the Senate but didn’t move forward.

โ€œI support the legalization of medical marijuana so we can finally provide much needed relief to families and children,โ€ said Wolf. โ€œIt is time to legalize medical marijuana because we should not deny doctor-recommended treatment that could help people suffering from seizures or cancer patients affected by chemotherapy.โ€

While efforts to legalize marijuana has received some bipartisan support, Republican House Speaker Mike Turzai is reportedly against the efforts. At a meeting in 2015, Turzai cried after becoming so emotional about the issue at a closed-door meeting, PennLive.com reported.
