Many of town’s restaurant owners were all brought together at an event held by Bristol Borough: Raising the Bar. Since the idea arose, owners and staff of restaurants throughout the community have been prepping for the event that runs from Thursday, March 3 until Thursday, March 10.

According to Bill Pezza, president of Bristol Borough: Raising the Bar, community feedback has already been tremendous.

“I think we are going to have a large influx from people who come from out of town,” said Pezza of Bristol Borough Restaurant Week.

Robert Strasser, an owner of the King George III Inn, is among the restaurateur excited to bring in some people from out of town to enjoy the food.

“The concept of the restaurant week is to create a value added menu that draws people into town to try our menu,” Strasser said.

By creating a three course meal and serving it for $25 at the historic eatery on the Delaware River, Strasser and the rest of the Borough’s culinary community hope to broaden customer’s horizons.

According to Strasser, the feeling is the borough’s restaurant week will, if executed correctly, emulate the feeling of restaurant weeks in major cities such as Philadelphia and New York.

“It’s creating a nice buzz,” Strasser, outlining the amount of word of mouth and social media buzz that the week has already garnered.

Pezza said he’s getting feedback from Bristolians and those from out of town who plan to take part in Bristol Borough Restaurant Week.

John Petolillo mentioned that a number of people come to Cesare’s Ristorante, owned by Donnie Petolillo, from all areas already, including Philadelphia, New Jersey and Yardley. The restaurant week will hopefully continue to bring people into the town for the dining on a regular basis.

“I think it will be a good turnout for the town,” Petolillo said.

The menus and prices for the special week vary depending of the restaurants, organizers said.

“We’re kicking off 2016 on the right foot,” Strasser said.
