Police identified 35-year-old Bensalem resident Mark Flemming as the man who engaged officers in a hour-long standoff on Clive Avenue. He barricaded himself inside a mobile home at 3247 Clive Avenue after Bensalem authorities arrived to serve an arrest warrant around 11 a.m. The warrant was filed yesterday, according to court records, and was for a weapons offense, witness intimidation and witness retaliation.
Flemming had only recently been freed from Bucks County prison in connection to a case where Bensalem police allege he fired a gun during a dispute late last year.

The SWAT team was called around 12:30 p.m. due to a fear that Flemming was armed with a gun. Several residents of Clive Avenue were evacuated during the standoff and an armored Bearcat truck was brought to the scene.

SWAT operators from the Levittown area are assisting Bensalem police with an apparent standoff.

Officers from Falls and Bristol townships’ SWAT teams responded the scene of the standoff in the area of Clive Avenue in Bensalem. The incident was upgraded to include SWAT operators around 12:30 p.m. Friday.
The subject reportedly engaged in the standoff is wanted on a weapons-related charge. The man also has a previous criminal history, according to sources.

A Clive Avenue neighbor told LevittownNow.com the man involved in the standoff was a suspect in a shooting that happened late last year.
Several fire companies and medics were dispatched to nearby Dunksferry Road during the standoff.
