Bristol Township-based Inspire Federal Credit Union held a blood drive over the weekend.
The American Red Cross blood drive truck stopped by the Bath Road financial institution on Saturday. Inspire’s training room was transformed into a donation center that allowed for up to five people to give blood at one time.

In total, about 35 people stopped out to donate life-saving blood.
“We had a good mix of members, non-members and staff donate during the drive. Hosting these blood drives allow us to welcome the local community into Inspire, while at the same time, helping our neighbors in need,” Brian Phillips, an assistant vice president with Inspire, said.
Jim Merrill, president and CEO of Inspire, said the financial institution exceed their goal for donors.

“I also enjoyed the opportunity to welcome members of our community into Inspire and hear their stories about why donating is so important to them. Many people have loved ones touched by an illness or incident that required them to receive blood and they use these drives as a way to give back,” Merrill said.
Inspire plans to host a blood drive this summer at their new Middletown location.
