The Bucks County Sheriff’s Department will be hosting a Citizens’ Academy this spring.
The Citizens’ Academy is similar to the program offered by Falls Township police but will give Bucks County residents insight into the training and duties carried out by the sheriff’s department, which is led by Sheriff Edward “Duke” Donnelly. Officials from agencies that interact and work with the sheriff’s department will also be featured during the 10-week class.

Chief Deputy Denny Shook said participants will have a hands-on look at the work his department does.
The classes will last about two hours on Monday’s starting March 7.
Space is limited and participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

The application is also available at the Sheriff’s office in the Bucks County Justice Center, 100 North Main Street, Floor B2, in Doylestown.
