Art Show Coming To Bristol Twp. College Campus

The Gallery at Lower Bucks Campus invites the public to the sixth annual “Show Some HeART 125” art show and sale February 1 to March 5 at Bucks County Community College in Bristol Township.

“Show Some HeART 125” features more than 160 pieces of art by more than 100 artists, each priced at $125, with $25 from each sale going to the Bucks County Community College Foundation’s student scholarship fund. Participating groups include Artists of Bristol on the Delaware, Artists of Yardley, ARTSBRIDGE, and the New Hope Art League, as well as individual artists.

A free opening reception will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday February 5, featuring hors d’oeuvres and desserts, and entertainment by Drummers with Attitude (D.W.A.) from the Bristol Township School District.

The festivities continue Saturday February 6, with a free “Professional Preparation for Artists” seminar with local artist Rodney Miller.  The seminar, from 10 a.m. to noon in the new Art Studio at the Lower Bucks Campus, will provide tips and techniques for artists to increase the visibility of their work and the opportunity to sell their work. Topics include proper framing and matting techniques, artist etiquette, tips on pricing your and showing your work, and recognizing patrons.

Visitors can enjoy “An Afternoon with the Artists” from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday February 6, including light refreshments, demonstrations and talks with local artists, and music by pianist and Bucks alumnus Joe Lizzi.

The juried exhibition will be judged by Gwen Shrift, features writer for the Bucks County Courier Times, the Intelligencer, and the Burlington County Times. Artists will vie for a variety of cash prizes.

Admission is free.  Bucks County Community College’s Lower Bucks Campus is located at 1304 Veterans Highway (Route 413, formerly New Rodgers Rd.), Bristol, Pa., 19007. The Gallery is open Monday through Saturday during regular campus hours.
