Big Q BBQ owner Drew Abruzzese is introducing a new menu item, affectionately called “Q-tips.” They are tasty, house-smoked, bone-in pork rib tips and he’s giving them away for free as part of a lunch box introduction at his Big Q BBQ, located at 1140 Bristol-Oxford Valley Road (at the corner of Woodbourne Road) in Levittown, PA. The giveaway starts at noon this Friday until they run out of product. “We just received 200 pounds of this special cut of pork from Hatfield Meats,” explained Abruzzese, “and we decided to let everyone have a taste.”
The “Q-Tips” are bone-in rib tips that are smoked and glazed with Kansas City sauce, which is a sweet and smoky sauce made with brown sugar, molasses and cider vinegar. Friday’s giveaway is a lunchbox which includes: 4 rib-tips; 2 drumsticks (hand breaded in an herb spice mixture); and a biscuit, normally a $5.00 value. “Everyone loves ribs, but sometimes for lunch they can be a little expensive. We do our best to try and keep our prices as low as we can,” says Abruzzese.
And, depending on how much snow we get, another giveaway could happen again during lunch on Saturday. Abruzzese promises to give away as many free Q-Tips as we get inches of snow overnight Friday. “That means, if the snow piles up to a foot overnight Friday, we’ll give customers another dozen Q-Tips for free until we run out!”
