In 2015, Pennsylvania State Police seized more than $118 million in illegal drugs.
The drugs were seized by state police troopers across Pennsylvania over the course of 2015. While mainly patrolling highways and boroughs without full-time police departments in Lower Bucks County, more rural counties rely more on troopers for their almost all of their day-to-day law enforcement needs.

“In 2015, state police seized over $118 million in prohibited drugs – which is an increase in the amount seized in 2014,” state police Commissioner Tyree C. Blocker said.
In just the final three months of 2015, troopers collected 11 kilos of heroin and over 1,000 pounds of marijuana with a combined approximate street value of over $15.8 million. In addition, state police seized over 20 kilos of cocaine with an estimated street value of $2 million, according to a press release.
The efforts also led to a number of arrests.

“Our troopers have made great strides in enforcing Pennsylvania drug laws and will aggressively prosecute individuals involved in illegal drug activity within the Commonwealth,” Blocker said . “These seizures confirm our obligation to the citizens of Pennsylvania by defeating these illegal criminal enterprises that have a devastating impact on the quality of life in our neighborhoods.”
