Bristol Twp. Schools Redevelopment/Building Repurposing Committee To Begin Meeting Again

The Bristol Township School District Redevelopment/Building Repurposing Committee will begin meeting again.

Solicitor David Truelove said no dates had yet been set for the committee but they would be soon.

The citizen committee will be working with the district, school board and Bucks County Redevelopment Authority (BCRDA) to find uses and options for the six Bristol Township elementary schools that will be vacant come summer. By September, all nine of Bristol Township’s elementary schools will be consolidated into three new buildings.

In late 2015, the committee took a break and cancelled several meetings.

The committee met several times in early 2015 and discussed possible options for the six soon-to-be vacant buildings.

Officials said in spring 2015 that the Lower Bucks YMCA and Bucks County Intermediate Unit have previously shown interest in some of the buildings.

The district is consolidating in an effort to reduce costs.
