It wasn’t a great Christmas for a 69-year-old woman who was injured while at the movies.
The woman suffered a laceration and was “bleeding strongly” after getting a portion of her leg stuck in a reclining seat at the United Artist at the Oxford Valley Road in Middletown around 6 p.m. Friday, Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Chief Frank Farry said.

Rescue crews from Fairless Hills, Penndel and the Langhorne-Middletown fire companies were dispatched along with medics. Due to the woman being freed from the seat before firefighters arrived, Fairless Hills and Penndel crews were recalled from the scene, Farry said.
The woman was transported to St. Mary Medical Center by the rescue squad to be treated for her non-life-threatening injury.
