Santa didn’t show up to Austin Drive in Fairless Hills Christmas Eve with reindeer; he showed up with his sleigh on the back of the antique truck from McCaffrey’s Food Markets.
Santa, really Falls Township police officer Bruce Rhodunda in costume, showed up Thursday morning escorted by several police cars with lights blazing. Families on Austin Drive scurried out of the their homes to see what the commotion was outside.

The Wright family, including three young children, walked out with wide eyes as Santa walked to meet them outside their home.
The 45 or so members of the Falls Township Police Benevolent Association (PBA) donated toys for little Julian Jr., 4; Madison, 5; and Shyanne, 10. McCaffrey’s Food Markets provided the Christmas dinner for the family and brought Santa’s sleigh.
“Wow – I couldn’t believe it when the kids’ teacher’s told us,” Julian Wright Sr. told LevittownNow.com.

Wright said his wife Lori recently lost her job.

The family was picked after a recommendation from a teacher at Oxford Valley Elementary School, where the Wright children attend. The toys purchased by the officers were plucked from the kids’ annual list to Santa.
Corporal Steven Langan said this Christmas marks the first time the PBA has donated to a local family in need of some help.

“I’ve got to go and give the gifts to the other little boys and girls now,” Rhodunda said to the Wright children as he left.
