Bucks County Community College officials said Thursday afternoon that police and bomb-sniffing dogs from several towns cleared the library and Gateway Center at the Newtown campus after a morning bomb threat.

“No explosives were found,” according to officials.
The library and Gateway Center were expected to reopen at 1 p.m.
Around noon, the Pottstown campus of Montgomery County Community College was evacuated due to a bomb threat. There was no immediate word if the two threats were connected.

Buck County Community College’s Newtown campus received a bomb threat that caused the closure of the library and Gateway Center Thursday morning.

The threat led police and college officials to close the section of the campus and carry out a search.
“While the threat is not believed to be credible, out of an abundance of caution, the Library & adjacent Gateway Center are closed this morning while a search is conducted in cooperation with local police,” a statement posted to Bucks County Community College’s website read.
All classes at the Bristol Township, Newtown and Upper Bucks campus are unaffected and will continue on a normal schedule.

The threat comes the day after a similar incident at a school in Bristol Borough and two years after a bomb threat made against the college by a student.
