Annual Bristol Borough Christmas Parade Draws Large Crowd

As usual, the Christmas Parade in Bristol Borough managed to be one of the most well-attended events of the year.

The route started at Green Lane and went all the way down Pond Street to end up on Mill Street. Although clouds covered the blue skies, the rain held off for the most part, yielding to small bouts of sprinkles throughout the two-hour-long parade.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the girl’s softball team,” said Vanessa Buggi. The girl’s Bristol Senior Little League Softball Team were the Grand Marshalls for this year’s parade.

“It brings people together, it’s tradition. Hopefully people do some shopping on Mill Street while they are here,” said parade-goer Lori Coffman.

Although most of the parade spectators came from within the borough’s own borders, many come from outside the borders of the borough to indulge in the festivities as well. David Alkins and Jessica Kitchin live in Feasterville, but come to the borough for the parade every year.

“My mom lives on Mansion Street, my aunt lives on Beaver Street. Family and traditions are the reasons we come out,” Kitchin explained.
