Crews were hard at work Monday completing the exterior and the interior of the store that originally opened in 2013 as a Bottom Dollar Food and closed at the end of 2014. The renovations and a small expansion will allow the former Bottom Dollar Food transition to Aldi’s layout that is known for simplicity.
On December 10, the public is invited to attend a 9 a.m. grand opening celebration. The first 100 shoppers will receive a golden ticket containing gift certificates of various amounts. Customers will also be able to sample Aldi brands and enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a year’s supply of Aldi produce.
Bob Grammer, Aldi Center Valley division vice president, said he is excited that the discount grocery chain is opening a location in Bristol Township.

Aldi works to keep their overhead low by only opening during prime hours – 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday – and uses energy-saving refrigeration and light bulbs and a cart rental system.
As of October, the closed Bottom Dollar Food store in Penndel is still being evaluated for sublease or assignment by Aldi, which operates a store a few miles away in Middletown’s Levittown section. This week, the Penndel store had an real estate listing sign on its front window.
