9-1-1 Service Goes Out On Mischief Night

Bucks County’s 9-1-1 system lost phone service for a short time Friday evening.

Service to theย 9-1-1 center that serves all 40 of the county’s police departments, over 60 fire companies and all of the rescue squads was out for about 20 minutes starting around 7 p.m., county spokesman Chris Edwards said.

One Levittown emergency official told LevittownNow.com local fire companies and rescue squads staffed up their stations Friday evening to handle any callers who could not get through to Bucks County central 9-1-1 dispatch center in Ivyland.

The Allentown Morning Call reported the county moved dispatchers to a backup center in Doylestown to work on receiving emergency calls.
