It took Falls Township and PennDOT crews about and 1.5 hours to clean up the diesel fuel spill that coated the intersection of Tyburn and New Falls roads Wednesday morning and early afternoon.

The cause of the spill was not able to be determined, Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said. He added that he suspects the fuel was tracked around as cars drove through the intersection.

Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said the large fuel spill caused slick conditions at the intersection of Tyburn and New Falls Road late Wednesday morning.
The cause of the spill was unknown, but it caused the intersection to be closed until PennDOT responds to clean up the mess, Dippolito told LevittownNow.com around 11:40 a.m.

“What caused it beats me,” the fire marshal said. “We only found out after a car hit a guardrail.”
