Police caught onto Simmons after his IP address was picked up by a porn investigation by the West York Borough Police Department. They discovered he was sharing files with descriptions that imply pornographic content featuring children.

Falls police took over the investigation into Simmons after West York authorities determined he was in Bucks County.

After getting a search warrant, investigators seized 50 items from Simmons’ person and home, according to court documents. Seized items included storage media such as flash drives, personal computers and video game consoles.

Sometime after the initial execution of the search warrant, another warrant allowing forensic investigation was received and executed. According to the forensic analysis, Simmons’ computer held images consistent with child pornography, as well their file names, authorities said.

Simmons admitted to investigators that he was “addiction” to child pornography. He further explained that after viewing the images he would often delete them for fear of detection, experiences of guilt, and would become depressed afterwards, according to court documents.

Simmons is free on bail until sentencing.
