
A Middletown homeowner came home at just the right time on Sunday.
A resident of the 700 block of Mt. Royal Avenue returned home from work around 5:25 p.m. Sunday to find smoke coming from his house. He called 9-1-1 and firefighters rushed to the scene, according to officials.

Firefighters were able to find flames in the heater room and the walls around it, Parkland Fire Company Chief Bob Barnes said. He told LevittownNow.com crews from Parkland and Penndel were quickly able to hold the smokey fire in check and stop the flames.
Deputy Middletown Fire Marshal Ken Richards said the fire was accidental and started in the area of the oil fire boiler in the heating room.
Both fire officials said the homeowner was lucky the fire was discovered when it was. “Had he come home in another 30 minutes, he would have been looking for a new house,” Richards said.
