Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Walter Hofman told LevittownNow.com a closed head injury and trauma caused Rush to die hours after he was assaulted by another inmate. He said no previous health issues led to Rush’s death.
According to court paperwork, Rush was imprisoned in the Doylestown Township correctional facility that houses Buck County’s male inmates after pleading guilty to drug-related charges filed by Chalfont police earlier this year.
Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler said no weapon was used in the altercation.

“We have a person of interest, and they’re not going anywhere because they are incarcerated already,” Heckler said Wednesday.
The homicide is being investigated by Bucks County Detectives.
