A mistake by the vendor that delivered jackets to the Bucks County Department of Corrections will help the homeless this winter.
According to Christina Finello, Bucks County deputy director of human services, 400 blue denim jackets not matching order specifications were delivered to prison staff recently. The jackets will now be donated to Bucks County’s homeless as the weather gets colder.

“It was discovered that the jackets were the wrong color and too closely resembled our correctional officer staff,” Finello told 69 News.
The barn-style jackets will have the word “inmate” removed before they are given out to the homeless, according to officials.
So far, 100 jackets have been donated to the Family Services Association’s homeless shelter in Bristol Township. The rest will go to Code Blue shelters and other country organizations that help those in need.
