On Tuesday evening, the Neshaminy School Board approved hiring Assistant Superintendent Dr. Gloria Hancock to become interim superintendent.

Hancock will replace previous Interim Superintendent Dr. David Baugh. He recently left Neshaminy’s temporary position to take a five-year superintendent deal at the Centennial School District.

Hancock, who began working at Neshaminy in 2013, will receive a pay bump and earn an annual salary of $166,400. Her benefits will remain the same, according district spokesperson Chris Stanley.

Hancock’s one-year contract for the interim position states she will return to her previous job under the terms of her original contract once a new superintendent is hired.

“No, I’ll be going back to my previous position,” Hancock said when asked if she would apply for the full-time superintendent job.

The district has been without a permanent leader since former Neshaminy Superintendent Dr. Robert Copeland, who left for the Lower Merion School District in Montgomery County toward the end of last school year.
