If you’ve never seen one, dragon boat races are popular around the world. Each 41-foot boat holds 20 paddlers with a steerperson and drummer direct the paddlers.
St. Mary Medical Center is represented by 12 dragon boat teams made up of physicians, staff, volunteers and friends of the hospital.
The event aims to “paddle out hunger” and proceeds will benefit Bucks County Housing Group food pantries in Doylestown, Penndel and Milford Square. The food pantries help more than 2,100 at-risk Bucks County families with food to last them for three days. A majority of the food is made possible because of donations.
