Crews To Spray For Mosquitoes In Bristol Twp., Falls Twp. & Middletown

The Bucks County Department of Health will conduct an adult mosquito spray with the assistance from the Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Protection (DEP) in Bristol, Falls and Middletown townships onย Tuesday, September 8.ย The spray will include the Oaktree section of Bristol Township, Vermillion Hills section of Falls Township and Forsythia Gate section of Middletown Township. The spray will commence at dusk. ย The rain date for this spray will beย Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015.

County technicians will be driving a dark green Ford Ranger spray truck with the county logo and BU number 0107 on the side.ย  There will also be a lead truck, a blue Ford Ranger pickup with similar identification.ย  The chemical to be used will be Duet applied at the rate of one (1) ounce per acre.ย According to the Pennsylvania DEP, the product is designed to provide quick, effective control of adult mosquito populations. The application material has a very low toxicity profile to mammals and will have negligible impact to non-target insects and the environment.
