Mealey’s on Lincoln Highway in Falls Township and hundreds of locals supported Justice Rescue at a well-attended car show on Saturday.
The car show, the result of a partnership between the furniture retailer and the rescue, had vehicles of all types on display for patrons to admire. Nearby, Justice Rescue had a tent selling merchandise for the shelter, where all proceeds benefit the operation of their shelter, animals and their care.

Denise Watts from Justice Dog Rescue said she was pleased with the turnout and the support from Mealey’s
Justice Rescue, based in Phoenixville, Chester County, is a no-kill shelter that saves animals from the hands of abusers, as well as uses their rescued dogs to teach children about bullying and the correct way to treat animals.

Ed Darcy, the president of Mealy’s, explained that much of the partnership was realized thanks to Tara Kelly, the head of marketing for Mealy’s Furniture. According to Darcy, Kelly was already involved with dog rescue groups. A large reason for the partnership was Justice Dog Rescue’s zero-tolerance efforts.

Russ “Wolf” Harper is a humane police officer and works with Justice to bring dogs straight from the hands of their abusers to the safety of the shelter. He said humane police officers target heinous abuse to save the animals, because “the ones at shelters are lucky enough to be there.”
Justice Rescue was formed by Harper and Karl “Crash” Sangree in 2011. The two tattooed bikers started the nonprofit that helps animals from mainly high-risk sections of the region.
