State Rep. John Galloway of the 140th District held a special appreciation dinner last Thursday night to thank the area’s veterans for their service.
The dinner began with aย procession by the Delaware Valley Vietnam Veterans (DV3) and melodiesย of the National Anthem, God Bless America, and the Armed Forces Medley before a buffet dinner was graciously catered.

This was the second year in a row Galloway has held such a dinner at Westaby Hall at the Fairless Hills Fire Company station in Falls Township.
The annual event, wasn’t originally meant to be annual, has become so because of the enormous attendance. Approximately 300 people attended last year’s dinner.
“When we began planning last year’s dinner, we had no idea what to expect,” Galloway said Thursday night. “We didn’t know how many veterans would take the time to contact my officer and then attend this dinner.”

Throughout dinner, veterans and their families listened to tunes by the Hotsy Totsy Gals.
According to Galloway, “while all not veterans see war, all who served in the military have expressed a willingness to fight if called to. Veterans have given us freedom, security, and the greatest nation on earth. It is impossible to put a price on that.”
