The emu that police were seen chasing earlier this month has not yet fully recovered after a sustaining a foot injury during her escape from Snipes Farm.
According to Snipes Farms officials, the emu, named Franny, escaped from the farm onto West Bridge Street before taking the Yardley exit, continuing onto Route 13, crossing over W Trenton Avenue and making a left onto Pine Grove Road. Franny, evidently, made her way through Falls and Morrisville and ending up in Lower Makefield, where she was seen swimming in a homeowner’s pool.

When officials got the call, it took animal control members, about six cops and two officials from Snipes to circle around her. Franny, reportedly laid calmly while officials put a sheet over her and put her in a van to bring her back home to Snipes Farm.
According to officials, Carousel Village at Indian Walk in Newtown had two emus, but one had just passed away, they have since taken Franny in. Franny, who was alone at Snipes Farm, now has a companion, an emu named Jack.
“I am keeping my fingers crossed that we can find a vet that will be brave enough to take a look at her,” said Colleen, an employee of Snipes.
