Police have apprehended one Middletown woman after she left her two year old daughter in the car while she visited a local Penndel establishment for a drink.
According to the Penndel Borough Police Department, 30-year-old Lindsay Gorgas was noticed early Saturday morning at the corner of Hulmeville Avenue and Lincoln Highway by Officer Jack Kenney. Fresh damage and a missing tire rim were evident on the passenger side of the vehicle’s front rim area and the engine was still running when police arrived. Police noted that Gorgas then exited the vehicle directly where an empty 12 oz bottle of Heineken lay; another bottle of beer was found on the floor of the driver side.

Kenney noted in a probable cause affidavit that Gorgas was seen stumbling around the vehicle and admitted to consuming alcohol. Police noted a small female child was seen sleeping in a car seat in the backseat. The two year old was wearing a soiled diaper and her clothing displayed dried regurgitated food, according to police documents.
Gorgas told police she was drinking at a friend’s house before she stopped at a Penndel bar for several beers and two shots of alcohol. Upon leaving, Gorgas purchased a six pack of beer, “for the road”. Gorgas told police she left her two year old daughter inside the vehicle for approximately 30-40 minutes while she drank inside, according to authorities.
Gorgas was charged with DUI and child endangerment charges. Gorgas was arraigned before District Judge Regina Armitage and remanded to Bucks County lockup in lieu of 10 percent of $10,000 bail.

Police noted the child has been left in the custody of her grandparents.
