
Middletown Township policeย have charged one man with robbery and assault after he allegedly attacked aย minor he was planning to buy sneakers from.
Police responded over the Fourth of July holiday to the 100 block of Sandybrooke Drive for the report of a robbery. When police arrived, they met with the victim, who had visible injuries to his face, including a bleeding lip, swelling and scrapes above his eye. According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim advised police he had been robbed inside the residence of Gregoryย Vah.

As noted in police documents, Vah, 19, called the victim’s cellphone in an effort to purchase sneakers from him. According to a statement to police, when the victim was invited into the home’s garage by Vah, he was struck from behind. Vah reportedly struck the minorย three more times after, taking the victim’s cellphone, hat, sunglasses and wallet.
When police approached Vah, he first stated he had no contact with the victim before later stating that the victim had come to his residence and that they had gotten into a physical altercation.ย The items that Vah noted he had not taken from the victim were later recovered in his bedroom, all money had been taken from the victim’s wallet, according to court documents.
Vah was taken into custody and charged with counts of robbery, conspiracy, simple assault, corruption of minors, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, disorderly conduct and harassment. He was arraigned and released on 10 percent of $3,000 bail.

Vah awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 29.
