A man was charged in a child pornography that began in May.

According to the probable cause affidavit, 60-year-old Falls Township resident Brian Simmonsโ€™ IP address was monitored by the West York Borough Police Department sharing files with descriptions that imply pornographic content featuring children. After receiving the IP address, Falls officers conducted an investigation and discovered Simmons to be the operator of a computer hooked using the IP address.

After getting a search warrant, investigators seized 50 items from Simmons’ person and home, according to court documents. Seized items included storage media such as flash drives, personal computers and video game consoles.

Sometime after the initial execution of the search warrant, another warrant allowing forensic investigation was received and executed. According to the forensic analysis, Simmonsโ€™ computer held images consistent with child pornography, as well their file names, authorities said.

Officers interviewed Simmons in regard to the search warrant while it was being conducted. During the interview, Simmons admitted his โ€œaddictionโ€ to child pornography. Simmons explained that after viewing the images he would often delete them for fear of detection, experiences of guilt, and would become depressed afterwards, according to court document.
