After a year hiatus, the annual St. Ann Carnival and Italian Festival will be returning to Bristol Borough, organizers confirmed to LevittownNow.com.
Bristol Borough Council President and lifelong St. Ann Church member Ralph DiGuiseppe told LevittownNow.com that the popular carnival and festival will be returning to is regular location on the church property starting Monday, August 10 and running through Saturday, August 15.

After a nearly 20 year run, church members canceled last year’s festival after their parish closed on July 1.
“We just lost our parish,” DiGuiseppe said. “We couldn’t put it on.”
This year, organizers were determined to get the annual borough event back up and running. Even though the Vatican recently denied an appeal to keep St. Ann as a parish separate from Bristol’s St. Mark’s Church, bills to take care of the St. Ann Church must still be paid and the carnival and festival are expected to bring in tens of thousands of dollars.

“It keeps the church afloat, and it’s a great community event,” DiGuiseppe said.
Noting that the event is a “major undertaking,” DiGuiseppe said organizers are looking for volunteers for each night of the carnival and festival.
