When two children crossed paths at Sesame Place 16 years ago, the two kids never thought that one day they would end up marrying.
Many years after their paths crossed and after their wedding, the two discovered an old home movie where 13-year-old Ryan walked across the camera frame, oversized glasses and all. The 1988 home movie was shot by the family of his future wife Jourdan while visiting Sesame Place.

The story got out this year and went viral; the Spencers had what Ryan refers to as “a simple 15 minutes of fame.” With their story told on NJ.com, LevittownNow.com and NBC’s Today Show, their story of coincidences captured the eyes of the nation.
The Spencers, along with their children were back at Sesame Place in Middletown on Friday. They had dinner with the characters, fast passes and did lots more during their day at the park with their three children. Zoe, Elmo, Cookie Monster and Ernie greeted the family for a special meet and greet just before noon.
“The [kids] are gonna to have a great time,” Jourdan said. This is the first time the Spencers have been back to Sesame Place from their residence in Scotts Plains, New Jersey since the story of their near meeting went viral.

“It was fun. It was our 15 minutes of fame. It was really a wild time. At first I was nervous to be on all the news stuff,” Ryan explained. However, they got used to it for the short time it lasted for.
According to Ryan, since the story broke, people have recognized the Spencers while they have been out and about on their daily business.

“I’m glad they were nice enough to invite us back,” Ryan said. According to Ryan, it was great to be back at the park with his family, letting them experience something he experienced at a young age.
Ryan and Jourdan Spencer were at Sesame Place for the day with Sophie, 6; Max, 3; and Mabel, who is eight and a half months.
