Firefighters went to work and were able to quickly put down the flames. Despite their efforts, the home remained uninhabitable Thursday night due to heavy smoke and heat damage, the fire marshal said.
Dippolito told LevittownNow.com the family – a grandmother and her three grandchildren – were out on a walk with their dog when the fire broke out.
The grandmother reported electrical problems earlier in the day. Dippolito said he believes the electrical fire started in the area of the microwave.
