On Saturday May 30 shortly after 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Janney Terrace for reports of an argument with possible intoxication. When police arrived, they observed a woman, later identified as Chambers, peacefully speaking to a male on the property.

Chambers told police that she had been given a ride in her own carย from a friend in an effort to speak with her child’s father. According to a probable cause affidavit, Chambers noted her and the man had spoken earlier and that when she arrived at the residence she had let herself in, since he knew she would be coming.

The man told police, as noted in court documents, that he would not let Chambers in the residence, that she was not allowed to be there and that she had been responsible for waking up his family members.

Police noted while speaking with Chambers that her breath smelled of alcohol, that her speech was slurred and that her eyes were glassy. A Portable Breath Test (PBT) was administered to Chambers, and a presence of alcohol was detected. As noted in court documents, a small amount of green vegetable matter was observed by police on the floor of her vehicle.

When Chambers was asked if any further marijuana could be found in the vehicle, she said “I don’t think so.” Chambers further told police that she had a glass pipe inside her center console. A joint containing burnt marijuana was also found inside an ashtray during police search, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Police said they then escorted Chambers off the scene, alerting her that if she returned she would be arrested.

On Thursday June 4, the man informed police that later that morning on May 30 after he had gone to bed, he found Chambers had returned and once again made unauthorized entry into the residence. The man provided a written statement to police and Chambers was charged.

Chambers awaits a preliminary hearing with Magisterial District Judge Gary Gambardella set for June 18.
