A Middletown man is accused of inappropriate sexual behavior with a young girl.

Middletown police arrested a 53-year-old Levittown man on Saturday and charged him with indecent assault on a person under 13, corruption of a minor and endangering the welfare of a child.
According to court papers, the 53 year old was investigated in 2009 for allegedly rubbing his groin against the underwear of the then six-year-old girl. During a 2009 interview, the girl said the activity hurt her and that the defendant would cover her mouth so she could not yell for help.
On Saturday, police spoke with the now-11-year-old girl and she spoke of a similar story.

The girl’s mother suspected there was abuse ongoing recently. She placed a small hidden camera in the girl’s bedroom and put a plastic bag in the girl’s room to preserve any evidence, police said.
The girl told a detective that the man would come into her room at night and while wearing underwear, would rub his penis on her, often on her butt or vaginal area, court paper state. Police added that the girl said she pretended to be asleep so the 53 year old did not get mad at her.

On Saturday morning, the man went into the girl’s bedroom, found the hidden camera and turned it toward the wall. The detective noted that the sound of bed springs squeaking is heard as the camera faces the wall.
While being driven to the police station, the 53 year old told the sergeant that was driving that he “didn’t mean to do it,” Detective David Strother wrote in court papers.
The defendant would not sign a Miranda warning card and said he did not want to make statements that could incriminate himself, police said.

It was not immediately released why charges were not filed in the 2009 case.
The 53 year old was arraigned and sent to Bucks County prison on 10 percent of $800,000 bail. The man is expected before a judge in early June for a preliminary hearing.
