Pet enthusiasts and their animals braved initially sour weather on Saturday to enjoy the fourth annual Langhorne Pet Fair.
The fair, an effort put forth by the Langhorne Rotary Club and Continuum Group, featured 67 vendors and two food vendors at the Mayors Park in Langhorne Borough.

According to Dave Carson, past president of the Langhorne Rotary Club, the main goal of the pet fair is to provide a free community event that can entertain the community.
“I think this is a Langhorne treasure,” Carson explained. “We couldn’t do it without all the rotary members and sponsors to make it possible.”
As well as featuring pet specific vendors, the fairgrounds housed an exotic animal show, a dog agility course, a petting zoo and free pony rides.

Carson and other members of the rotary club estimated that between 1,200 and 1,500 people would appear at some point during the fair.
The Continuum Group has been involved in the Pet Fair since it first began four years ago. “We love it. It’s a good way just to connect to families,” Ken Neeld of Continuum said.

The Pet Fair not only helped raise awareness for the rotary club, various vendors raised money for specific charities as well. Marianne Ahern, a resident of Langhorne and operator of Glad Dogs Nation had a spot vending stuffed toys made out of old kids toys. All of her proceeds went to spaying and neutering dogs.
“People seem to respond well to the idea that their toys are going to a good cause,” Ahern explained.
