Bristol Twp. Man Found Guilty In Death Of Father

A Bristol Township man has been found guilty of third-degree murder in connection with the death of his father.

Jazs Bronner, 45, was found guilty Wednesday by a jury in Doylestown after a three-day trial. Sentencing will happen in the coming weeks.

Bronner, according to authorities, killed 73-year-old Orlando Bronner inside the well-kept home at 1005 Winder Drive in Bristol Township on March 31, 2014 with a 10-pound dumbbell.

Following the incident that left Orlando Bronner with a serious head wound, Jazs Bronner left the house, traveled to Trenton and returned with his mother before 9-1-1 was called.

Prosecutor Robert James made the case earlier this week that Jazs Bronner purposely struck his father with the dumbbell, while the 45-year-old stated to police that his father fell and hit his head after starting an altercation.

The commonwealth stated Jazs Bronner killed his father with several dumbbell blows to the head during the fight. According to court papers, blood spatter and blood smears were found on the walls of the bedroom, police also also saw a “large pool of blood on the carpet.”

On Tuesday, James displayed an image of Orlando Bronner’s devastating head wound. The image was taken during an autopsy on April 1, 2014, which was attended by homicide investigators.

Toriaun Bronner, Orlando Bronner’s grandson and Jazs Bronner’s nephew, testified Jazs Bronner was not happy when the 73 year old said they had to move out. The request came in anticipation of the upcoming wedding between Orlando Bronner and his girlfriend.

The father and son also had an argument about food costs leading up to the March 21, 2014 death, according to testimony.

“He was such a sweet person,” Winder Drive resident Irma Boyd said of the elder Bronner last year. She added he was retired from his job and “ready to begin his retirement and ready to live life.”

No sentencing date has been scheduled for Jazs Bronner, according to a court dockets.
