Police Situation Causes Schools To Lockdown

A man in Levittown who threatened to commit suicide caused two schools to go into a self-imposed lockdown on Monday.

According to parents and a Pennsbury School District official, Penn Valley and Manor elementary schools went into a short lockdown Monday morning due to police activity. Falls Township police said the lockdowns were not ordered by officers.

Patrol units were called to Nightingale Lane after a man threatened to commit suicide, police said.

Officers were able to talk the man out after a short time and took him to the hospital, police said.

No injuries were reported.
