State Rep. Frank Farry (PA-142) will use his long career as a volunteer firefighter to lead the caucus that represents more than 200,000 paid and volunteer first responders.
Farry, chief of the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company since 1990, was elected by members of the House Firefighters and Emergency Services Caucus to be majority chairman of the bipartisan group on Wednesday.

“I hope to be a strong voice for our first responders in this new capacity,” Farry said. “As a fire chief in the 142nd District, I understand the daily challenges faced by our fire companies and emergency service organizations. These men and women do so much for our local communities. I will ensure they are given every opportunity to have a voice in the legislative process, especially as it pertains to their safety and success.”
Farry has worked in Harrisburg previous on legislation, including the Carbon Monoxide Alarm Standards Act, that has come from his experiences as a firefighter.
“I look forward to discussing Pennsylvania’s safety issues and working with these individuals to improve emergency and fire services and protect the people who risk their lives serving our communities,” he said in a statement.
