The decision was made while crews continue to work on the entrance paths to the Bucks County Justice Center, he said, adding the program will be evaluated following their completion.

County spokesman Chris Edwards confirmed the shuttle will be making its last rounds on Thursday, April 2.

The 12 to 14 passenger shuttle ran in the morning and afternoon between the parking garage, courthouse and more recently the new justice center. The shuttle was started in 2010 to help those who are handicapped or have trouble walking the distance travel between the parking garage and the central portion of Doylestown.

“The reason, as I understand it, is that is how it was budgeted, to cease after the weather got nicer and the walkway was completed from the parking garage,” Edwards said.

With the completion of the free shuttle service, the county expects to save more than $30,000, the spokesman said.

The Bucks County Commissioners will continue to evaluate the end of the shuttle service and employee feedback on the change.
